Tone does the work here. The lion is drawn at full scale, an ornate worked mane with real detail in it, and then printed a shade off the black underneath. Up close it’s unmistakable. From four steps back it’s a texture. Strength that doesn’t need to announce itself, on a design that behaves the same way.
The placement runs down the left leg rather than sitting at the hip, so it reads when you’re moving rather than when you’re standing still. The tonal print means these still work as plain black leggings on a day you’d rather not be looked at, and as something more on a day you would.
Four-way stretch in recycled polyester, with a raised waistband and soft clear elastic through it so it stays put without digging. A hidden pocket is sewn into the waistband seam, sized for a key and a card. UPF 50+, which counts for more than it sounds like if you train outside.
